Hey everyone!

After receiving many many wonderfully creative rare pair prompts we’re now open for claiming!

For those wanting to collaborate (two or more people creating for one prompt) please only claim once between you, nominating only one email to correspond with Mods.

If you’ve ghosted the fest before and wish to claim again this year, you will need to email the mods at hprarefestmod@gmail.com before we will accept your claim.

Here are some rules and guidelines you may wish to review before claiming:

- You can only claim one prompt at a time. However, If you finish and submit your work before the claiming close date (December 5th), then you’re more than welcome to claim another prompt.

-All fics/podfics must be written/spoken in English. This is because Mods need to be able to read/listen to all entries to ensure they comply with fest rules and have accurate tagging. Titles, phrases or quotes in other languages are perfectly acceptable.

-All creations must be new, completed, stand-alone pieces created for the HP Rare Pair Fest. Minimum word count for fics is 500, there is no maximum.

-While it is fine to include common ships as secondary pairings, the primary ship of the fic must be a rare ship. In other words, the rare ship must be the endgame ship of the fic. If you need any clarification on this please do contact a mod.

-While this fest is not anonymous, and you are welcome to chat about your work with others, please do not post your WIP or completed work elsewhere before it has been revealed on AO3, this includes posting to other collections.

We’re very excited to have opened prompting for another round of Rare Pair Goodness! Reading all the wonderfully creative prompts that you all come up with is so very heartwarming, and we appreciate every single one!

Here are a few reminders to keep with you when submitting prompts:

- You can submit up to 15 prompts.

- Prompting is open from the 16th of August to the 30th of August.

- You can leave prompts without the need to create for the fest.

- Prompts submitted that include characters that are not from the canon Harry Potter verse will not be included in the final prompt list. (Characters that can be reasonably assumed to exist, for example: ‘Snape’s Grandmother’ are A-Okay)

Self Prompting information:

There are 2 ways you can self prompt.

- You can submit a prompt/prompts now, then during claiming (between September 3rd and December 5th) you can claim your own prompt. (Please note: Others may claim your prompt before you do, and therefore you may not be able to claim it yourself when the time comes.)

- During the claiming process there will be an option to submit a self-prompt. You can submit any prompt within the confines of the fest rules, then create a work using that prompt.

Fest Rules and Guidelines 2022

All participants in this fest must be over the age of 18. For those on the cusp of 18, you may begin participating from your 18th birth date. For example, if you turn 18 on September 12th, you cannot prompt, but you may claim a prompt from September 12th.
You can submit up to 15 prompts with no need to claim. You do not need to prompt in order to claim.
Please treat mods with respect. If you have any questions or issues with the fest please ask or talk to the Mods about it privately, you can ask questions on Tumblr, email, or through Discord.
All creators must have an AO3 account. If you don’t have one and either wish to claim or have claimed a prompt, please contact the mods and we can help set you up with an account.

All fics must be beta-read. If you need help finding a beta then please feel free to contact the mods and we can help find one.
Those who ghost the fest will be required to email the mods before claiming a prompt for the fest in future. Ghosting involves not communicating with mods despite multiple attempts at contact. (Dropping out of the fest is not ghosting, and is absolutely fine.)

Hello everyone!  I just wanted to say a massive ass thank you to absolutely everyone involved in this fest!  Everyone who wrote or arted for this fest, to everyone who prompted, volunteered as a Beta Reader, to those who read and viewed works, to those who kudos’d, commented, liked, reblogged and shared with their friends. Today is another break in Posting. So please do feel free to catch up with any fics you’ve not read and have wanted to, or really just, you do you.

Perhaps take a moment to fill in this survey I made, if you like. This was my first time ever creating and moderating a fest, and it has honestly just astounded me how wonderful everyone has been thus far.
